Cross-Structure Binding Workshop
At the Workshop - Owen Sound Artists' Co-op
The Crossed Structure Binding was created by book conservator Carmencho Arregui who designed it as a conservator structure for rare books where you needed to have the book lay flat but still allow for strong sewing to support the text block.

The Cross Structure Binding (CSB), the text block sewing is partially hidden by a two-piece soft cover that has straps that cross over the spine. The opportunities for mixing and matching cover materials and interlacing, sewing or tucking the straps allows for beautiful variety of cover designs. Students will create two books – one in leather and one in paper.
